No-one’s perfect and there’s always room for improvement. But stop being conscious of all the things you’re not, and be grateful for the things you are.
It’s weird how the mind works. Years ago I was in a toilet on an airplane and saw the sign saying “No smoking in lavatory” and immediately thought “And no pissing in the ashtray”. And now, unbidden, that thought comes every goddamned time I see the sign. I have no control over it.
Sometimes we have to do the things we didn’t want to do, in order to do the things we needed to do.
A haunted house movie, but it’s quickly established that this 1970s house has never had anybody die in it. So what is actually going on?
We’re not adults who were once children. We’re all just really old children. We still think and care the same.
