Excellent. My preference would be mobi/Kindle but Substack doesn't allow an embed on that: I'll have those in reserve in case someone needs them. I'll be putting up ePub and pdf... and hopefully we can help others users out in the comments if anybody's struggling for a method...
What format are your books? ePub? PDF? something else proprietary? Are they DRM'd?
I've never had to think about this on Android or PC in recent years, because there's always some program to open them (often a web browser will open them, or I can send them to my Kindle.
I'll be providing both Apple-tuned ePub and generic ePub, along with PDF. I have .mobi too but Substack isn't able to embed those yet... I'm sure we'll all figure out a method ;-)
Ideally offer people their choice of .epub or .mobi, and optionally .pdf, too. You can create all three pretty painlessly using Calibre. (A quick internet search tells me you probably already have .epub for your Apple stuff? So you just need to create the other two versions.) David Gaughran has a great tutorial on creating ebooks. Scroll down straight to Part IV: Calibre, if you already have an epub.
Thank you! The books are already done — I use Vellum on the Mac, which is fantastic. Producing ePub and .mobi is easy, but Substack won't currently allow embedding mobi, so I'll have to hope the generic ePub works. Adding a pdf as a backstop is a very good idea.
Creating a generalised field for a mobi substack substrate can lead to bfp's if you don't have an endemic flurtlebinder. It's best when using e.pub to make sure that the catatonic harbingers don't get overboard by eating too much chocolate.
Remember, if in doubt, I'm selling this info at £50 per letter.

Very easy.
I use Bookfunnel to actually *deliver* the books, as it has all the troubleshooting, and instructions, etc set up to help people load their books.
Good luck!

Always happy to help!
Thank you. I think?
Ok you’ve got me. How fantastic.
Excellent!
I’m curious what the genre of the stories will be? A mixed bag?
They'll range across the 90+ I've had published, so yes — a mixture of tones within that.
