OH yes. Along with "Have you eaten with us before?" To which I want to say "No, but I'm really hoping it's going to boil down to me ordering some food, and you bringing it".
God, you've exactly explained my dimly understood horror of horror movies. I would say 'I just can't stand them' and it was never enough.
The menopause has laid bare - in this as in many other things - dark anxieties, long buried selves and problems that never actually went away during the insane busyness of the pre-menopausal life, and the last thing my sleepless dread and anxiety needs is...more!
As always, I come for the writing and stay for the comments...
Interesting how many people are saying the same... I wonder whether people with some anxiety dislike horror for that reason, but people with something "slower" like melancholy or depressive tendencies like the way it speeds them up...
Great bitz!
Thank you Brad! :-)
Another great installment, and that last one finally explains why my wife can't stand horror movies.
It's the same with mine!
Spot on! I can't watch horror movies! LOL
My wife is the same!
Wow, as I read the other comments an interesting gender/household divide emerges!
I don’t really want an exciting fusion of cultures, international synergy in a bowl. I just want some frickin’ lunch.
This made me laugh so much.
I also hate the ‘would you like us to explain the concept here?’ comments. I really want to go ‘you bring food, I eat food?’

Ok, so basically we are grumpy shits when it comes to eating out…
