LOL! No, not really. But really nice nonetheless, Michael. Very solid performances. It's not easy to film in NYC in the Christmas season. Did you guys shoot really late at night? Not that that would have made a big difference in the city that never sleeps.

My early Christmas short story, "Coming Home," is also very dark. It's been done in every format EXCEPT film -- print, stage, podcast -- although the books were optioned. Always fun.

Glad you liked it :-) Actually I don't think ANY of it was shot in NYC. Some of it's stock, but the whole long section apparently in Bryant Park is green screen!

I really love this short. They’re both so great in it, and I’ve got a soft spot for this story.

Here you go, here’s my Christmas story. About a thousand words long, wrote it for my mum’s Dutch partner back in 2013 when I was skint and couldn’t buy presents for Christmas.

Wow. I *love* that. Utterly charming, and I mean that in the best of ways.

That’s twice you’ve liked my short stories, man. One more and I’ve got myself a hat trick.

And Laura Gordon. If she doesn't look like someone who could be the Under-Supervisor of Really Hustling Things Along at the Department of Doing Things Especially Quickly, I don't know who could.

Within a few seconds of Andrew Howard's brooding presence, I could see someone who could easily play Stark if Only Forward ever got the film treatment it deserves.

I didn't spend the last two decades and a half in theatre and not know how to spot a great actor for a great role...

Evidently! You've slightly blown my mind here.

And fuck it, Tobin Bell as Fell Alkland and Dave Bautista as Darv.

Very much noted :-) Tobin KILLS it in this short. Makes you realize how good he actually is.

I read in the comments, that eye filmed in New York, Bryant Park? A true Christmas story…. WOW.

Actually — through the magic of cinema — it was all filmed in LA ;-)

Brilliant! Wonderfully written, acted and the soundtrack took the story to another level. Dark and joy-stealing! We were warned! 😄 Not to worry, I shall go and watch Albert Finney in Scrooge to counteract it. 🎶 Thank you very much, thank you very much 🎶

I feel like I've been hit in the gut with a cricket bat - something I've grown familiar with from a lot of your books. I need to watch a few more times to let it fully sink in, but I wanted to say thank you for this. It's meaning for me is beyond my current capacity for words.

Same here. I'd like to say somerhing insightful or meaningful but I'm lost for words. It's haunting and scary and I don't think I fully understand why.
